Welcome to the Beat Carers' Forum Message Board!

At the moment we are unable to moderate new posts but please look at archive posts for messages from carers and Beat staff.

Message Board Rules

We want the Message Board to be a place where you can share your experiences openly. We also want to ensure that this is a safe space for all users and that it is used appropriately. While we don't want anyone to feel that use of the message boards is overly-restrictive, please be aware of the following rules before posting a message:

  • Be mindful of your boundaries when disclosing personal and family details - respect the wishes of family members (not just the person suffering from an eating disorder) who may not wish to be named
  • Weight may be discussed, but please refrain from using numbers: low weight, lost weight, gained weight or overweight all exemplify how current weight and changes in weight can be clearly conveyed without mentioning specific numbers
  • Experiences of services are varied. The Message Board is a place where you may openly share your experiences, but is not intended as a space for criticising services
